| A new hope for the species: a baby pink dolphin was born |
This species is considered the largest river dolphin in the world, mainly inhabiting large water basins in South America such as the Amazon River, among others.
However, this species is also recorded in other parts of the world in a lesser number, places where they are hunted due to the special nature of their skin.
In 2008 it was included in the Red List of Threatened Species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). (After 30 years the harlequin frog reappears in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta)
A new birth
In recent months, a new baby pink dolphin was discovered, which was seen in Louisiana, United States.

This little boy was seen by Bridget Boudreaux, a citizen who was in a boat with her husband traveling on the Calcasieu Canal, where he could see a manda of dolphins swimming near them.
When capturing the photograph of one of them, they realized that it was a baby, something that was praised by several scientists considering the small number of these animals in the world.
